What was revealed from our latest inspections:

St Stephen’s Christian vision and its associated values underpin all aspects of the daily school experience. This has a significant, positive impact on pupils’ development and wellbeing, and their ability to live life in all its fullness

Collective worship provides a distinct, calm space away from the busy school day. These times of worship, prayer and reflection are effective in drawing together the school community to focus on spiritual growth.

St Stephen’s inclusive culture enables pupils and adults to feel accepted and supported. Celebration of diversity and promotion of cooperation stem directly from the school’s Christian vision.

Behaviour and relationships are courteous and harmonious. Pupils are respectful and show care for each other and towards adults.

Ofsted

Our latest Ofsted inspection, carried out in November 2024 recognised that - The provision for pupils’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural development is effective. Pupils are well prepared for their future lives.

St Stephen’s is a warm and welcoming school. Pupils are polite and friendly to staff and to each other. The school ensures that pupils learn in a safe and nurturing environment where they gain the skills needed to enjoy life as well as receiving a rounded education.

The school has created a well-thought-out and ambitious curriculum where pupils revisit and build on their learning. The school makes sure that the curriculum is designed to respect the diverse backgrounds of the pupils at the school. For example, they ensure that pupils see themselves represented in the texts used.
