RECEPTION
Step into the Reception Class where young minds blossom into confident learners. Our engaging curriculum, aligned with the British National Primary Curriculum, incorporates adaptive learning methods. Through cooperative activities, children in Reception not only develop essential academic skills but also cultivate social bonds that lay the foundation for a collaborative and supportive learning community.
Your child will be participating in the reception baseline assessment (RBA) within the first 6 weeks of starting reception. The purpose of the assessment is to provide the starting point for a new measure that will help parents understand how well schools support their pupils to progress between reception and year 6.
The RBA is a short, interactive and practical assessment of your child’s early literacy, communication, language and mathematics skills when they begin school, using materials that most children of your child’s age will be familiar with. It became statutory for all schools from September 2021.
Please follow the link for more information. Any further questions, please see the Reception teacher.
ReadingReading/Phonics: Later this term, your child will be assigned an e-book that matches their phonics learning. Your child will also bring home a book from the reading corner to read with someone at home. These will come home on Friday and must be returned the following Wednesday.
